Summer Champagne

Elderflowers in bloom again
Time to make this Summer's champagne.
Lemons, sugar and luck I'll need
To make my sparkling brew succeed.
I'll walk along a country lane
To gather blossoms before the rain
I'll slice and boil and leave it then
I'll come back for a stir again.
Then in a bucket, leave to steep
while I take a well earned sleep.
Then bottling time it will he
And in fourteen days or so we'll see
Whether the magic worked or not
Will this be a drinkable lot?
I take a cautionary sip - oh yes!
So far this batch has been the best!
